About Us

Organization Name and Background:

Afghan Relief Mission (ARM), previously known as the Ghulam Mohammad Maimana-Gi Association, was founded on November 14, 2019, by a courageous disabled woman in Faryab Province (Registration No. 1398/7/23 – 4623). Our Association initially focused on advancing the education and rights of women and children. However, following a decree from the Defacto side in August 2021, we faced significant challenges as associations were prohibited from operating, leading us to suspend our activities. Despite these hurdles, our unwavering commitment to supporting vulnerable populations—particularly women and children—has inspired us to transform into a non-profit organization (NGO) under the name Afghan Relief Mission.

ARM is a woman-led organization dedicated to empowering communities in Faryab Province. We firmly believe that education and awareness are vital for sustainable development and social progress. Our work spans several critical sectors, including Protection, Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Education, and Health.

Our experienced team has built a strong reputation within the communities we serve, enabling us to gain deep insights into their unique challenges. We are committed to implementing effective solutions that promote sustainable development and resilience. Through comprehensive awareness-raising sessions, we focus on human rights issues, particularly women’s rights, educating individuals about their inherent rights and the importance of advocacy within their communities.
